Toppi

I picked up some imported books of my favorite artists in the past couple of weeks. Specifically Toppi, Hugo Pratt, Alberto Breccia and Zaffino. Since my first post (yes over a month ago. I know, I know) was a tribute to Zaffino I decided to carry this on with Toppi. This is a quick one, probably about 20 minutes.

Toppi's approach to breaking up shadows and indicating texture has always fascinated me.

Way to go Josh. I've got Toppi's "SHARAZ-DE" on my desk right now. I love how much design work and research goes into every one of his projects. They feel like films.

Peace,
Joe

Thanks Joe.

Toppi has a new book out now too called Tanka.

It's Toppi doing a samurai story which is just about as hot as something can get.

Def check it out if youre a fan.

Hey Josh, I posted a Toppi piece too. Would you mind giving me a little critique if you have the time? That would be awesome.

Peace,
Joe
